About this blog

City Action aims to put business at the heart of the community by providing a free volunteering brokerage service which facilitates the transfer of time, skills and resources between City firms and community-based organisations in the City and the seven surrounding boroughs: Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Westminster.

As part of its service, City Action holds regular events, has a range of resources and can provide specialist advice on community involvement programmes including partnership brokering, for both City firms and local community organisations.

This blog, hosted by City Action, provides an opportunity for members of both the corporate and community sectors to share their experiences, opinions and best practice tips on the valuable programmes that have been set up to benefit their local communities.  These programmes could include employee volunteering schemes, gift in kind donations and other corporate responsibility initiatives.
